Pete's Plumbing, Inc., family-owned for three generations, is working to change the way you think about plumbers. It's their business, but it's also their legacy. Rick and Julie Lippitt own Pete's Plumbing, Inc. Rick is the son of Pete, who the company was named for. Both Rick and Julie are committed to the same quality, efficiency, and that "personal touch" that Pete set as company standards in 1984. Pete's Plumbing, Inc. was started when Pete moved his family to Alpharetta from Wisconsin; his original focus was on doing new construction. However, over the next couple of years, the focus changed to residential servicing, so Pete's son Rick branched off and started R.A. Lippitt & Sons, Inc. (named after Rick's grandfather) which maintained the construction focus. Three years ago, when Pete decided to retire, Rick and Julie purchased Pete's Plumbing, Inc. and now operate both companies. "They are totally separate companies, but it was a natural fit to have both available to the community," Rick commented.
Pete's Plumbing, Inc. is available 24/7 to meet the needs of Alpharetta, North Fulton, Roswell, East Cobb, and Cumming areas; company expansion into Gwinnett and Duluth is expected very soon. Rick talks about their services, "Plumbing problems are varied and range from leaks in the wall to water pressure issues to leaky faucets. We also have a camera that enables us to go into a clogged main sewer line and see a problem. We have the latest technology available which makes our services more efficient and accurate. Even though we do not work on septic tanks, we have a network of local small businesses with whom we work when we find a problem that we do not handle."
Rick and Julie have a vision to continue to grow the business. Presently, Pete's Plumbing, Inc. operates three service trucks and has plans that include adding a fourth service truck in the near future. Pete's Plumbing, Inc. hires only qualified, quality, and caring service technicians, realizing that their customers require both professional and personal service. Pete's current techs, who have more than fifty years of experience, have been a part of the team for a very long time, and they will soon be welcoming a new professional service tech who is also committed to the customers' needs and satisfaction. Rick continues, "Requirements of the service tech include the ability to do diagnostic servicing in how the system operates; they must be customer friendly; they must have a clean appearance; and they need to be able to explain to the homeowner and our office the reason for the service call and what they did to correct the problem."
"We are very proud of our technicians who have been here with us as the business grew, and want them to grow with us. We also have some very loyal customers who've been with us for more than twenty years and for whom we are very thankful; we know they have referred us to their friends and we are very proud of that fact. We want to be your family plumber and we want to have the community know we are here and available 24/7," explained Julie.
One of Julie's goals is to get involved with the local schools. "Many students work well with their hands, and show an interest in the service industry. I would like to make these students aware of options available to them for moving into a service type career," Julie said. Julie also noted that there are several opportunities for students who do not wish to attend a college or university, and she hopes to be able to make these students aware of the different trade careers and the benefits of learning a trade skill.
