June is here, almost half the year is gone. . . what happened to the time? Now pools are open and summer vacations are beginning! Summer time is full of family time and fun, but on a budget this year. Where will your vacation take you this summer? Around Town magazine is holding a photography contest! Take your Around Town Alpharetta/Milton/Windward on vacation with you and take a picture — the magazine that travels the longest distance away will be awarded a prize! So pack your bags and your magazine and start traveling. See page 6 for details.

I can remember my first prom — putting on the tux that matched my date’s dress. We have featured Milton’s recent prom held at the Georgia Freight Depot on page 39 — see how these teens enjoyed their school’s prom! If you have some cherished photos from Alpharetta High’s or another area school’s prom, please mail or email them to our editor with names please!

High school graduation is just around the corner. Parents, be sure to send us photos of your graduate so that we can show them off in our July issue. Be sure to add their names and the school that they attended. If you have children graduating from kindergarten or middle school, please send those photos also.

June brings Father’s Day. Around Town Alpharetta/Milton/Windward’s Father of the Year is Mark Piazza nominated by his 9 year-old daughter Gina. Read about this great dad on page 22.
